Well this little lady got herself a nice big fat lip yesterday, as well as her second trip to the ER.

This picture was taken today and it looks remarkably better (swelling almost gone). Thank heavens.

*Don't continue reading if you don't like gross details*

Carson didn't quite recognize his own strength when he put a toy on her back and accidental ground her poor little face into the hard wood floor. So sad. We didn't realize how bad it was until we noticed that Gregs shirt was covered in blood, and she was gagging on it getting caught in her throat. Seriously? I about died. It was so good that G was home because I was freaked out and didn't know what to do. Her little bottom teeth went straight into her upper lip, and cut her "frenulum" (new word I learned..its the thing right above your two upper front teeth that apparently holds your lip down. Who knew? Beside you Emily! :) ) in half. Luckily it was still attached so they didn't need to give her stitches. The hole was pretty big and I still get a little woozy thinking about it. She has been a trooper and hasn't even seemed to notice anything is wrong unless she accidentally sticks her fingers up there. Ew.

I think I have decided that I need nurses courses or something because I have NO CLUE what to do when things like that happen. What a horrible part of motherhood.

P.S. Carson was pretty sweet and looked like he was about to cry when he saw Quin bleeding. It hasn't stopped him from his craziness with her though.

P.P.S. When I was editing this picture, carson came up to me and mimicking what Greg had said about 5 minutes earlier said "oh, look at those eyes! She so cute!"

Another funny thing he has been saying/doing lately is pretend sneezing. The other day Greg asked him "do you want to go in the hot tub car?" Carson responded with "No. I...I....I....Achooo!" (fake sneeze) I didn't know where he got that one from until I was reading the Bernstein bears go to the doctor to him later that night... good read.

oh the things younger siblings have to endure. I am no good at the wounds thing either. Ella hasn't had too many yet, but I tend to panic nonetheless... As I was reading this I realized how traumatic it must have been for my mom when I bit my tongue off (except for one small bit that kept it attached)when I was 3. The things MOMS have to endure. Yikes.

And what a sweet picture. Your images are so beautiful.

We were in the hospital for a lip lac last week! It was Maddie, of course, that makes two emergency trips for her in the last 3 months! Isn't it insane how quickly lip wounds heal? By the time the Dr could see her it has closed itself up. I hope Quin heals just as quickly!

Poor Quincey. I agree with Car and Greg, she has amazing eyes!!
Even with my training, I think when we have kids I will probably freak out if they get hurt. And yeah, I have a lot of useless knowledge (like what the frenulum is).

Lesley- Seriously?! OUCH. That makes me a little sick to think about. I can't even imagine. Me and my sibs were constantly getting hurt too. One time a pushed a roller skate off our balcony and it hit my little bro on the head below... My mom didn't seem to think it was that big of a deal. haha :)

Melissa- Same with QUIN! What else did maddy have to go for? I'm so glad they heal quick!!

Doug- CARSON is still drooling. Come on... :)

Emily- Not useless info at all! I wish I had even an oz of the knowledge you have. It would be so nice with kiddos...

Oh and Angie- HAHA. Thanks for the nice comment. My mom would laugh if she read that. I was known as the non domestic or creative child... :)

ella bit through her upper lip this week... and let me tell you a 5 hour visit to the ER in Harlem was the 'welcome to NYC' we were looking for. Not. I was just thinking "didn't I just read about this somewhere?"
