hmmmm. I guess it's been a while eh? Sorry folks. Just not much in the bloggin' mood. Haven't really had the creative juices flowing I guess. Plus there is the whole Christmas thing upon us. Yikes. Oh, not to mention that I filled the hard drive on my 'puter with pictures. Yeah. I guess I need to erase. Oh and maybe get another hard drive... Any good suggestions on how you people out there handle your photo dealings with your computer? I'm talking to you Dan Dyer. G needs advice. I'm sort of in a pickle over it! :)

Anyhow, Nothin' new really. Another reason for no postings. Thanksgiving was fabulous. G had to work most of the break, but he got a few hours off for Thanksgiving dinner. Phew. G's bro and sister in law, graciously invited us over to their new pad for an awesome meal, plus great company. Couldn't have asked for better. I was so busy enjoying it all that I didn't bother to take many pictures. I think I took 8 total. Here are two of them:

Quin found Andreas "rally monkey" and fell in love at first sight. She spent a good while with this thing snapped around her.

The fun of the night really came though with the empty for now, hard wood, living room floor.

Good times people. Good times.

I'm liking this movie making thing. Fun little memories indeed. I just don't have the hours to make them real fancy though... oh, well. They still make me smile.

p.s. Christine if you are reading this, it was great to see you guys on Thanksgiving!! Hope the rest of your trip was wonderful, and see you soon! ;)

Hey Erin! I have this http://bit.ly/6SS4ME which has TONS of space. Loved the "bowling!"

We basically have two identical harddrives. All photos are stored on drive A, which is mirrored to the drive b. So if one fails we have a backup.

You could also backup your photos to the "cloud" with services like mozy or dropbox. But chances are it would be pretty expensive with the amount of space you would need.

Both these ideas have pros and cons. I hope this helps.

Erin, we got an HP media vault. It is like an external hard drive that you hook to your network and you can send stuff from your current hard drive there. If you want more info, Hyrum is the man to tell you.

Thanks for the advice guys. Seriously, I'm in a little bit of hot water with Greg. He told me my picture habit is not sustainable.. Hmmmm.

We have 3 external hard drives. Lacie is the brand. A couple are for backing up and a couple are for archives. I try every few months to archive a bunch of photos and get them off the computer. Hubby has it set up so that once a week, during the night, the computer backs itself up onto one of the hard drives. It's nice to know if we had to evacuate our home or something we could throw a hard drive in a backpack and save the photos :) or something like that. I also try to upload a bunch of photos somewhere on-line (ie blog or photoworks or blurb) so that in case we "lost everything" I could at least get albums or prints of our favorite family photos. My husband is a graphic designer so he's really really into this backing up stuff. I'm so glad I have him to help me! If you need more info or suggestions let me know and I can have him email you specifics. Good luck!
