HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Tomorrow the decorations come down. Today I asked Car if we should take down the decorations and he said, "yeah, and put the Halloween ones back up." He's holding out man...

*****

Today I gave my kiddos the huge suckers I bought for their stockings. Only treat they got.
haha. Greg was making fun of the fact that the only reason they got those, was for the sake of a picture.. He knows me well..

I wanted to get one last shot of the kiddos and the tree. And try out that filter thing that has been posted on millions of blogs where you can make the lights any shape you want. It was hard to get it to work...

The kids loved their suckers for about 5 minutes, then they were done. Quin broke hers, and Car chucked his in the garbage..

This picture is/was horrible. I tried to salvage it because I loved the looks on their faces.

And Car looks a little devilish in this one, but it is so him. FUNNY. That's all I can say. He was REAL excited for his treat.

Now it's off to bed to ring in the new year with a movie with the hubs...

Don't worry, we went to a party earlier. But it involved kids, so we all celebrated New York time, and rushed them home to bed. I forget how fun game nights are. That should be a resolution... More game nights this year!

That along with less pictures, and less blogging... It is starting to feel like a chore..

You know, that b&w pic is my favorite! Those lollipops look so tasty and fun. Thx for sharing your pictures and keeping a blog. It is one of my favorites! I would miss it if you stopped :)

Your bokeh is awesome! I've read about those filters but I am scared to take the plunge and actually make my own!

Hi- I totally love your blog. I ran into it by accident a while ago and can't stay away. You pictures inspire me. I would sooo love to know the "recipe" of how you process your pictures to get "vintage look"? Have a wonderful new year.

alexis,

Thanks for saying hi. hmmm, it's sort of hard to say what I do, because it depends on the picture... the actions i usually use for vintage colors, are from "totally rad actions". I really like the lux actions that are in TRA version 2. I also like the pioneer woman vintage actions.. But mostly I just kind of do my own thing. Those particular pictures needed extra help because the white balance was all mixed up, (inside, plus snapped too quick, without checking WB) so I had to do lots of color correction in PS, Then I put a warm layer over it, and used curves to bring out some dimension... Don't know if that helps or not. I'm pretty sure I used a light lux on them too... Sadly, I can't remember for sure! :) Mommy brain I guess. Hope that helps. Sorry if it is confusing.

Love the suckers. As you saw on my blog...Sawyer got one as well. It was actually meant for his stocking...but I had to break it out to get him to sit in that chair!

You have such cute kiddos. I love the idea of celebrating New Year's NY time (my sister lives in Boston and when she called I was thinking "what's the matter?" but it was a New Year's wish)

I'm with ya on the "less is more" when it comes to photos and blogging. Life passes so quickly with these little ones and sometimes I feel like all I do during nap time or "after hours" is edit and blog....hmmm....obsessive? Maybe instead I should read a good book. I've only read two books in the 18 months that I've had Sawyer: one was "The no-cry sleep solution" and the other was "Twilight" Pathetic, I know. Bring on the Jane Austin!

Okay...sorry to babble...off to Costco we go! Best wishes for an AMAZING 2010!!!

LOVE love that picture of Carson and his crazy eyes over his sucker - so hilarious. He looks like he has a ton of personality, that's for sure! =)
