Well, its official.
Quin turned two the other day.

Don't worry she isn't a spoiled princess or anything... haha.

She was lucky enough to get all the little mermaid garb a girl can imagine, and a toy kitchen set for her birthday. She was pretty excited.

We also had a little get together with my high school friends, and their kiddies. Good times I tell ya. Good times...

I had big plans for the bash, but things kept going wrong. Like how I was going to make a super fabulous Ariel for the top of her cake, and it turned out looking like a drag queen, and then had the audacity to collapse on me. Or how I had to make two batches of cupcakes because my oven decided to turn my first batch into charcoal. Or how my cake baked with a huge hole in the top of it...? Or how I learned that I am in fact NOT a good sculptor (as if it had not been solidified after drag queen ariel) when my Sebastian and flounder cake pops turned out quite freaky looking... I could go on and on. But I will save you...

Things still turned out pretty cute in the end, and Quin loved it all...

(Notice the drag queen ariel pinata. I had to have at least one drag queen at the party... lol)

On the day of the party it was so windy out that my full size ladder totally blew over and almost killed me. Ok, ok, I was actually inside when it happened, but still. Can you imagine?! So all my decor for outside didn't work out either...

These were the only things I managed to get hung, and then they blew off...

Oh well, at least they made my chair pretty I guess!

Car wouldn't get out of the picture I was trying to take of Quin...

Fatty Addy, was one of my favorite guests. Look how cute she is!! And that tongue? Sticks out like that constantly... Quin was pretty enamored too, and kept trying to feed her juice and hot dogs... Shhh don't tell her mom.

The wind just kept blowing, and we couldn't quite get the candle lit....

So we just told her to blow anyway.

She didn't even know the difference and just blew and blew and blew...

The real fun of the night came when scoot decided to climb on our roof and spray our wasp nest for us.

He almost died. But it was REAL funny. But made the kids cry... lol

After all of that good fun, it was finally time to hit the pinata. With a hammer. Yep, we are pretty ghetto like that...

Carson and Cam had a lot of angst, and took it right out on her.

Finally after all the kids hitting her a million times, and nothing happening, we had to introduce whiplash Izzy. She looks sweet, but don't be fooled...

Whiplash Izzy didn't work very good after all, so then we just ripped drag queen Ariel apart and let the candy fly...

Carson obviously is a little young for pinatas. He was too busy whining about the blue ring pop someone else had, to get any other candy...

It was a fun time. Thanks for coming all.

After the disasters it looks like you adjusted to cooking with the altitude again! Everything looks fantabulous as usual and I especially like the drag queen theme! Oh, that pic with Car and the hammer is priceless along w/ the 2 pic of Quin. Your part prep descriptions crack me up!

Ok friend, can we please get to know each other? Because I'm so confused on what happened. I feel like I missed a post about where you are living now (??) and are you for real that you made her cake? Because I have an almost two year old that obsessed over Ariel and I may just need to make (buy, more like it) a topper like that.

Your photos are perfection, but the commentary makes them even better. Sounds like you guys are doing well.
