A few weeks ago Greg and I decided to pack up the car and surprise the kids by taking them to Disneyland. Since I had been throwing up for the past three months and was miraculously finally feeling sorta better (I have terrible pregnancies, sick in bed the whole time. So feeling pretty good at 15 weeks is miraculous for me. Guess my body is getting used to the drill, and I guess the drugs help too... Oh yeah, and I'm pregnant. Guess I never mentioned that on here yet.) I really wanted to get out of the house and relax on the beach and do something fun. So Cali we went. We told the kids we were going to the beach, and then the morning we got there we told them we were really going to disneyland. They were sorta confused at first, but couldn't contain the excitement once we got to the park.
I brought the kids costumes to wear since they are pretty much obsessed, and they LOVED it. Thought they were pretty much the coolest. The first person we ran into when we got to D-land was peter pan. We obviously had to go meet him. Meeting the characters was one of the favorite things for these kiddos. They love to talk to them and get autographs.
Quin gets real excited and nervous when she talks to them, and she usually twirls her hair or her ear...
When we went to take the picture with Pan, Quin freaked and wouldn't go near him. She said he was too scary... Kinda odd since she had just had a full blown conversation with the dude.
For me Disneyland pretty much revolved around food. This particular morning we got to the park and I immediately smelled popcorn. I HAD to have it. Much to my dismay, the vendors didn't open for popping until a few hours later...
This is the face you get when you get between a pregger and her food...
Don't worry, we got sufficient buckets later on in the day and week. Wish I had some now. Sounds REAL good.
We spent lots of time in toon town this trip. Hadn't really looked around there before and the kids thought all the stuff was real neat. I didn't think it was so neat when Carson ran off from this here jail and we lost him for about 4 minutes. SCAR-Y. I don't recommend it. But toon town was aight...
Stuck in jail...
Blowin' stuff up...
And Cars personal fave, the electrocuting door handle.
The rockets are one of my LEAST favorite rides, but one of Carsons absolute favorites. So unfortunately one morning when the line was short, we had to oblige.
The pure bliss on this kids face, was worth it.
Quincey was so funny in her costumes. She would be in full on character, and whenever she would see another little girl princess, she would immediately go up and introduce herself.
She also thought the castle was her home, and would run up to it whenever we passed.
This is her pretending to dance with the prince. She is very serious with her dancing.
The carousel is always a favorite...
As is the sword and the stone.
The kids also really love the nemo submarine ride which I hate. Too claustrophobic. But they get real into it.
Daddy was super nice and waited in line for almost two hours so that Quincey could meet rapunzel.
Quin was SO excited to meet rapunzel and flynn. She asked them all sorts of questions
and couldn't contain her excitement.
So much excitement in fact that while she was hugging Flynn goodbye, she couldn't resist laying a wet one right on his cheek. Ooops...
We met captain hook too. While we were waiting to say hi Quin said "mom? Is hook a codfish?" And then when she went to have him sign her book she called him a codfish. She again wouldn't pose for a picture with him. Too scary.
Our hotel had bunk beds which may have been the highlight of Carsons trip. He felt so cool sleeping way up high in the sky.
One day we made it to Santa Monica for some shopping and a trip to the beach. The beach was real fun until we realized how freezing it was. We only lasted about and hour. The wind made it WAY to cold to stay any longer.
The look of complete exhaustion on the way home... Don't ask me why car is sucking his thumb. He is not a thumb sucker.
My first belly shot...
Quincey loves mister potato head and always likes to have conversations with him.
This is how excited she gets when its her turn to meet one of the characters
Car was throwing a fit, but then he decided to get in for a picture at the last minute.
The kids really wanted their picture taken in this toy box. But what makes this picture awesome...
is when you zoom it in.
we got super lucky because the soft opening for the new Ariel ride was happening the last day we were there. Ariel is quins FAVORITE. She kept asking if the ride was open, and we kept having to say no. She couldn't contain her excitement when we told her we got to go on it. We went three times in a row because there was no line, and then we got interviewed for Disney online. It was pretty funny. The videos I have of this aren't uploading, oh well.
And that's about it. We got to see some of our good friends from NY the last day too, but I didn't end up taking any pictures darn it.
The whole trip was exactly what I needed to get my spirits back up. I think it was the first trip we have ever taken with just the four of us.
