I am attempting to catch up on some random things that have happened since I have been sick and prego...

Way back in March or February, Quin fell and loosened her 4 front teeth. She couldn't suck on her binkie for over a week. We decided it would be a good time to ween them both. Soooo, we followed a friends advice and headed to build a bear. We took ALL our binkies, and told the kids that they could get a bear, if we put all their binkies inside of it. They were SO excited to build a bear, that they went along with the plan.

On the way in...

The lady who helped us was SO great, and really got into the whole thing.

filling the bear..

saying goodbye to the binkies

Getting the heart ready by rubbing it all over with love

making a wish and blowing on the heart

Carson really thought hard about his wish, he couldn't come up with one.

Then it was Quins turn

I'm TWO!

Filling it

Testing out the stuffing. (Of course she picked the UGLIEST bear possible!)

Bye Bye binks

Getting the heart ready

Making a wish

Bathing the bears

And after the fact.

I wasn't sure what they were going to do that night before bed. They both asked to get the binkies out of their bear, but they figured out that that wasn't possible, and did ok without them. It took about two weeks to really get used to no binkies though. Rough few weeks.

Every once in a while they still ask to get their binks out of their bears, but all in all it worked out pretty well. I have to say that weening binkies, and potty training, were my two WORST mommy tasks. Not looking forward to doing either ever again. :)

Ever since seeing this post, Sawyer keeps saying "we need to go shove Aspen's binkies in a BEAR!!!" For some reason he finds it hilarious. I think you may be on to something...I thought maybe she'd be too little to understand if we mailed them to the binky fairy or stuffed them in a bear, but I'm beginning to think we need to formulate a plan of action before she gets any closer to two with a binky in each hand... :) (I never let Sawyer have a binky and he didn't care so we never had to deal with it - but she was a binky baby from day 1 and now...even more attached.)
