Last night G and I went to the Mariners game. And get this, we didn't have any kids with us! G's parents stepped up to the plate and took the babes for us, and we got to just sit and relax, and enjoy catching up with some good friends of ours. I have to say that it was such a treat.
There were numerous things that made this game cool.
1. I caught a ball. Usually I drop them, but this time I caught it! Wahoo!
2. We were with good friends, as stated above..
3. We ate really delicious hamburgers
And last but not least, we ended up winning. (I can't believe I just typed "we" as if I were on the team. Man G is rubbing off on me.) And in a very exciting fashion. We were behind the whole game until in the 8th inning, Griffey saved the day.
Now I have to be honest when I say that I was not paying too close of attention by that point in the game. That is until I noticed the WHOLE stadium start to stand and erupt into cheering. Then I noticed why. Griffey had decided to join the game, and was standing at home plate. The cheering went on for a few minutes until the first pitch was thrown, and BAM he hit it out of the park. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but even I could appreciate that moment. It was like a movie. Our friend Lance caught the whole thing on tape. Also caught on tape was Greg calling the whole thing before it happened. He said "first pitch, home run". How did he know?! haha. Hopefully I get my hands on that tape because it was so funny.
Anyway, thanks for coming Lance and Al, and thanks Gma and Gpa for watching our little ones! We had a great time.
