This is going to be a pretty random post. Mostly about the heinous weekend that I encountered, but with a few other jazzy tidbits mixed in as well...

Most of the weekend was pretty great. Remember Friday? It was great! It was actually really just Saturday night that threw a wrench in things.. But I like to be dramatic.. It's just who I am.

Greg was nice to me and watched the kids a lot. Quin has been sorta fussy and so he knew I needed a break. He woke up with the kiddos on Saturday, and when he opened the blinds to behold a glorious day, it was raining. Carson was standing next to him, so Greg said, "look Car it's raining." Carsons response? "I hate the rain." I'm serious! He said that.

Here is the proof. He has been saying it ever since...

Don't mind his silly attitude... Guess he is sick of having a camera pointed at his face.. and who can blame him really?

Apparently I say that I hate the rain a lot. No one else in this household says it. He could only have gotten it from me.... Maybe I should work on my attitude? It's hard when it comes to rain...

Oh, and Carson got a haircut. This morning. I was sick of the long stuff because the last time I cut it, I made it look a little dumb and dumber-ish. Never a good thing. Hey, hairdressers make mistakes sometimes. We do! I cut it too short this time too. But hey, it will always grow. That's what they tell me anyway.

Ok, so now that that's out of the way, I will re-live Saturday. Although I'm not sure why, because it really wasn't very fun the first time around. I guess I just like to get it off my chest, and then I feel better. Right? Right.

So there is this Christmas Festival out here that is really cool. Lots of lights, lots of animals, train rides, food, talking Christmas trees, you name it. I have been really excited to take the kiddos, and Saturday was the chosen day. Well as I mentioned before, it was raining Saturday morning. Should we still go? Or shouldn't we... After looking at the weather, I decided we should try it out. There was only a 40% chance of showers, and that was at 6. If we get there at 5, we should surely be good for an hour... It breaks a cardinal rule of mine to do anything outdoors in the rain, mind you. Well other than walking in the rain of course, so this was huge. We had quite a drive to get out there, so we smartly thought, lets skip the kids naps, and they can sleep in the car. NOT. Bad quickly turned to worse when two grumpy kids were strapped in the car, and refused to fall asleep. Oh and the rain started dumping buckets. hmmmm. Should we turn around? NO. We weren't that smart. We proceeded along. Long story short, we get there, get the kids strapped in the stroller, are drenched before we walk away from the car, walk to the entrance, turn around and head back to the car because we are so wet, turn back to the entrance when Carson starts crying because he wants the Christmas festival, enter the park, lose carsons hat, get quins thrown in the mud, stand in a 30 minute line for a train ride, almost lose Carson because we both think the other person has him, ride the train in dripping wet clothes, run to the car, listen to crying all the way home.... etc, etc, etc.

Yes, we almost lost Carson. Never felt so bad in my life. When we were in the line for the train, Quin started freaking out, so Greg took her to see the fires. I thought Car was going with them, and I thought Greg saw him. I was wrong. Luckily I looked over a minute later and saw Carson jumping in puddles in front of an on coming train, just as he was realizing he was alone, and starting to say "daddy where are you?" I left my stroller and purse and ran to get him. I couldn't stop thinking of what would have happened if he got lost. Not a good feeling AT ALL. For sure up there in one of the worst mommy moments for me.

Anyhow, here are the blurry pictures Greg snapped. Auto can't deal with low light...

Time to go.

Hopefully we will look back and laugh. :)

Things I learned?

1. Don't trust the weather man. I thought I already knew that. But, nope.
2. Never, and I mean never, break your cardinal rule...

This picture is a random one from the other day... Whats better after a bath than swimming in clean clothes that you pulled off mommies shelf?

The END.

Oh! I shouldn't forget to mention that seeing this car on the road to the festival made me forget about the rain for a second... I mean, anyone who goes this all out, must really love the holidays, and that makes me love them just a little bit more too.

I sorta have a hunch that maybe Michael Scott was behind the wheel... But thats really just a theory.

Oh, I'm so sorry! about all of it, esp. when you almost lost Carson. We lost Jane at the D.C. space museum and I thought I was going to die. really.
We hope to see you soon, under better circumstances.

That sounds like an ordeal. I once couldn't find my son for a few minutes at the Indy Children's Museum when he wandered off with a friend. Not fun at all! The video is so cute. You really hate the rain & live where it rains the most?! I bet the sunny days make up for it (right?) Take care.

Sorry it was such a stinky day! I was thinking "oooo sounds like a fun place" until you said it was a long drive and I'm rarely brave enough for those even without rain (think throwing up all over ourselves 2 weeks ago)!
